Established in 1999 in Seattle, Washington, MineFill Services provides specialist technical advice in mine backfilling to clients worldwide. Our backfill expertise encompasses the full spectrum from hydraulic fills and cemented rockfills, to paste fills and paste thickened tailings. The primary focus of our expertise is underground metal mining for both base metals and precious metals, however our clients have included uranium, diamonds, coal, potash and soda ash (trona).

MineFill’s 20th year in the backfill industry brought a lot of changes and growth to ensure we are able to continue to meet the growing demand for our services. We recently incorporated a new entity in Australia to lead our new EPC services group, we expanded our Seattle laboratory capabilities, and added a new laboratory in Belgrade, Serbia. We have added some significant talent to our team and we look forward to the next 20 years.

Our backfill involvement begins at the initial thoughts of backfill being utilised in a mine. We provide scoping and feasibility studies for backfill systems including conceptual level to basic engineering level designs, equipment sizing and selection, capital and operating costs, and project scheduling.

Following early-involvement works to quantify the viability of backfill for a mine, we continue to build on our relationship with our clients and move to the project realisation phase. MineFill has significant expertise in backfill operations and provides auditing and advice to backfill operations worldwide. Our services include backfill quality assessment, design of QA/QC programs, binder optimization, and troubleshooting of operational issues in backfill plants and reticulation systems.
